Voice under is a series of four posters made in collaboration with Leo Porramet Jittaksa. The project was made in connection to Ester M. Bergsmark’s exhibition of the same name at Accelerator in Stockholm and loosely based on her concept of voice under, the use of a collective and queer narrating voice in film.
The posters relate to the “in-between spaces” that exist in Stockholm - a clifftop, the space under a motorway bridge, a park founded on construction waste. Places that have not been assigned any specific purpose and therefore possess a potential for freedom and resistance in a city where public space is otherwise heavily orchestrated.
In Stockholm, the vast majority of posters in urban spaces are commercial and hung with tape, easy to take down again. Our posters are glued to surfaces in the city: electrical cabinets, trash cans and bulletin boards. They can be found in central Stockholm and in suburbs such as Solna, Sundbyberg, Bromma, Spånga, Hägersten and Älvsjö.
The project is curated by Clara Donadoni in collaboration with Accelerator.
